ACNE SUFFERERS BEWARE OF UV RAYS...

ACNE CARE PRODUCTS CHICO, CA       916SKIN - ACNE CLINIC

Beware of Ultra Violet rays.  There are two types of Ultra Violet (UV) rays, in which us earthlings need to protect ourselves. UVA rays - rays that penetrate the dermal skin layer, alter DNA,  cause aging and skin cancer.  UVB rays - rays that penetrate the epidermal skin layer and cause sunburn and aging.

UV rays emitted from the sun reflect off cars, rocks, side walks, buildings and onto our skin. Once UV rays have breached the skin's barrier, oxidative damage caused by free radicals, reeks havoc on vulnerable acne-prone skin.

UV rays penetrate most clothing, especially loose knits. UVA rays penetrate glass and are emitted in small amounts from fluorescent lighting.  So for those who work in an office seated near a window, this double whammy of UV exposure, will rapidly damage your skin if certain precautions aren't taken.

Wear tight knit clothing with UPF when possible. Turn window blinds to deflect UV rays. Wear broad spectrum sunscreen everyday with an SPF30 even when indoors and on cloudy cool days.  Choose a professional sunscreen that contains a minimum of 7% zinc oxide. Some professional brands contain 18% zinc oxide - that glide on thin, silky and oil-free.
