SKIN CARE ROUTINE ON ROAD TRIPS...

SKIN CARE TREATMENTS FOR ACNE CHICO, CA        916SKIN - ACNE CLINIC

I'm on a 10 day road trip up the Oregon coast - camping. Camping in my situation means living out of my van, often staying in remote places with no running water. Day 8 offered the luxury of a Safeway parking lot, which provides access to clean restrooms 24/7. I emphasize "luxury" because it's the only opportunity I've had to wash my face with ahhhhhh - warm water.

A successful acne regimen is dependent upon consistency - consistently doing your skincare regimen every morning and every night. This presents many challenges when you're camping or on a road trip. Especially if it's cold. Just know, if you don't stick to your routine - you will notice changes in your skin texture almost immediately and you will likely experience breakouts.

TIPS:
- If you refuse to wash your face, use your toner repeatedly until the cotton round is clean. Ten times if that's what it takes.

- Use your actives. At the very minimum use your exfoliating serum (salicylic, mandelic or glycolic acid).

- Ease up on the topical vitamin A (retinoid, renova, tretinoin, etc.), using it every other night or every third night if you are getting more sun exposure than usual.

- Apply your sunscreen fanatically, every hour if necessary as sun exposure will likely increase your chances of PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). This refers to red or brown spots left on the skin after a pimple heals.
